How often should I charge my phone?
It is best to charge your phone when the battery is low. If in doubt, place your phone on its home charger when you go to bed and remove it when you wake up.

Should I let my battery go all the way down before I charge it again?
Batteries are designed to only take a specific number of charges, so if you are charging the phone before it is ready to charge then you are shortening the overall lifespan of the battery. However, it is not crucial to do this each time if your battery is a Lithium Ion battery, (in most new phones). Some of the older types of batteries do need to be cycled, so you run the risk of damaging your battery if you do not allow it to run completely down before each charge. Contact Customer Care to find out which kind of battery you have.

Should I leave my phone on the charger when I’m not using it?
No. Over-charging can cause potential damage your cellular phone and/or battery.

Can I talk on the phone while it’s charging?
It is OK to use your phone while it is plugged into the vehicle power adaptor, however the home charger is not designed as a regulated power source and should be unplugged from your phone before making or receiving calls.

Can I leave my phone on all the time?
Yes. It is OK to leave your phone on all the time, even while charging. Your phone will notify you when it needs to be charged and may shut itself off if the battery gets too low.
If you are in a marginal or poor service area however, the phone should be turned off while charging since the handset uses some of the charging electricity to continue to search for signal while charging. This results in not receiving a truly full charge of the battery although the handset may indicate the battery is fully charged.

If my phone is turned off can I still receive calls? Can I still receive messages?
Your phone must be on in order to make or receive a call. If your phone is off and you have voice mail it will automatically take a message for you.

What could be the problem if someone called but my phone never rang?
It may be that you were in an area of poor reception. If your phone loses sight of the tower for even a few moments you may miss an incoming call.
If you have voice mail your phone may be turning the call over to the message center before you can answer. In the home area you can extend the time your phone rings before going to voice mail by dialing *9432 send, listen for the beeps and press end.
If you are having ongoing problems receiving calls, please visit one of our stores or contact our Customer Care department.

What does a “fast busy” signal mean?
A fast busy usually indicates a failure to connect a call because of a lack of reception. It is best to hang up and try your call again.
