Golden State Cellular launches Text to Landline Service

teleMessageThe Text to Landline application allows Golden State Cellular customers to create and send text messages to home phones all over the US and Canada. The home phone recipient can then respond using their own voice back to the Golden State Cellular customer. The Golden State Cellular customer will also receive a status text message telling him if the message was delivered to a live person or a voicemail system and a reply text message if the home phone recipient replies. Standard text messaging charges apply.

“The Text to Landline application enhances the existing text messaging experience by allowing people that can text to communicate with people that do not “Now it is really text to any phone.”

“We see this as an SMS feature enhancement allowing our customers to communicate with more people while they text message” says Dan Rule General Manager of Golden State Cellular.

This is what the landline customer will hear and experience:

  1. "You have a Text Message from XXX-XXX-XXXX. POWERED BY GOLDEN STATE CELLULAR’S TEXT TO LANDLINE SERVICE. TO HEAR THIS MESSAGE, PRESS 1.
  2. Press 1
  3. Recipient listens to message. TO REPLY PRESS 2, TO DISCONNECT CALL PRESS THE STAR KEY, TO HEAR MESSAGE AGAIN PRESS 3.
  4. Press 2
  5. RECORD YOUR REPLY AT THE TONE. WHEN YOU ARE DONE, PRESS 1. PRESS # TO CANCEL RECORDING.
  6. Recipient records reply and presses 1.
  7. REPLY SENT; GOODBYE AND THANK YOU FOR USING GOLDEN STATE CELLULAR’S TEXT TO LANDLINE SERVICE.
  8. Press # during STEP 6
  9. REPLY CANCELLED. TO REPLY PRESS 2, TO DISCONNECT CALL PRESS THE STAR KEY.
  10. Press 3 (AFTER STEP 4)
  11. Recipient listens to message. TO REPLY PRESS 2, TO DISCONNECT CALL PRESS THE STAR KEY.
  12. Press *
  13. GOODBYE AND THANK YOU FOR USING GOLDEN STATE CELLULAR’S TEXT TO LANDLINE SERVICE.

This is how the Golden State Cellular customer will receive a reply message from a landline caller:

  1. THIS IS A REPLY MESSAGE FROM yyy-yyy-yyyy Recipient listens to message. TO HEAR MESSAGE AGAIN_PRESS 2 TO DISCONNECT CALL PRESS THE STAR KEY
  2. Press 2
  3. THIS IS A REPLY MESSAGE FROM yyy-yyy-yyyy. Recipient listens to message GOODBYE AND THANK YOU FOR USING GOLDEN STATE CELLULAR’S TEXT TO LANDLINE SERVICE.
  4. Press *
  5. GOODBYE AND THANK YOU FOR USING GOLDEN STATE CELLULAR’S TEXT TO LANDLINE SERVICE.
